The MyAshleah Foundation Volunteer Policy
1. Purpose and Scope The MyAshleah Foundation (“the Foundation”) is committed to fulfilling its mission through the dedication and commitment of its volunteers. This policy outlines the requirements and expectations for volunteers, ensuring that their service aligns with the Foundation's values and goals.
2. Volunteer Roles
Grief and Addiction Counselors: Volunteers providing counseling services must undergo a background check to ensure the safety and well-being of those they serve.
Event Help: Volunteers assisting with event setup, breakdown, and security will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of events and maintaining a safe environment.
Spreading the Gospel: Volunteers involved in evangelism and spiritual outreach are expected to represent the Foundation’s beliefs and conduct themselves in a manner that aligns with our
statement of faith.
3. Background Checks
All volunteers serving as grief and addiction counselors are required to undergo a comprehensive background check before beginning their service. This is to ensure the safety and trust of those receiving support from the Foundation.
Background checks may also be required for other volunteer roles at the discretion of the Foundation, particularly those involving direct interaction with vulnerable populations.
4. Event Support and Security
Volunteers assisting with event setup, breakdown, and security must follow all instructions provided by event coordinators and adhere to safety protocols.
Volunteers must report any safety concerns or incidents immediately to the designated event coordinator.
5. Image Release
Volunteers may be photographed or recorded during their service for promotional or documentary purposes. By volunteering, individuals consent to the use of their image by the Foundation in various media formats.
If a volunteer does not wish to have their image used, they must notify the Foundation in writing prior to participating in any volunteer activities.
6. Minors as Volunteers
Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a signed permission form from their legal guardian before participating in any activities.
Minors will be supervised by an adult volunteer or staff member at all times and will not be placed in roles requiring background checks.
7. Statement of Faith
All volunteers must agree to align with the Foundation’s statement of faith. This ensures that all activities and communications are consistent with the Foundation’s values and beliefs.
Volunteers who cannot agree to the statement of faith may still assist with certain non-ministry-related tasks, subject to approval by the Foundation.
8. Limited Liability
The Foundation provides limited liability protection for its volunteers, covering any incidents that occur during the course of their service, provided they are acting within the scope of their assigned duties and following all Foundation policies and procedures.
Volunteers are required to sign a liability waiver acknowledging this protection and agreeing to hold the Foundation harmless for any accidents, injuries, or other incidents that occur while volunteering.
9. Code of Conduct
Volunteers are expected to conduct themselves with integrity, compassion, and respect at all times.
Any behavior that is inconsistent with the Foundation's values, including harassment, discrimination, or any illegal activity, will result in immediate dismissal from volunteer service.
10. Termination of Service
The Foundation reserves the right to terminate a volunteer’s service at any time for any reason, including but not limited to failure to adhere to this policy, misconduct, or other actions that could harm the Foundation’s reputation or mission.
11. Acknowledgment
All volunteers must sign a copy of this policy, acknowledging their understanding and agreement to comply with its terms before beginning their service with the Foundation.
